Computer Recycling

Computer Recycling and Reuse in Waukesha Wisconsin

Computer Recycling & Reuse in Wisconsin

Computers are one of the main contributors to electronic waste (e-waste). E-waste poses a major disposal issue because they are made up of various components that are toxic to our environment. The Institute for Local Self-Reliance estimates that 75% of all obsolete electronics are currently being stored. This will result in a massive disposal issue for our country and the entire world. With continuous innovations in technology, there is an increasing need to recycle computers, limiting the number that end up in our local landfills.

This is not a small issue. Hundreds of millions of retired computers are discarded by Americans every year. We need to make smarter choices about what we do with these products. At Alliance Web Site Solutions we want to help ensure a clean environment for future generations.

Computers and Our Environment

In 2002, approximately 41 million computers became outdated. Recent analysis by the National Safety Council estimated that 63 million computers became obsolete in 2005. It is estimated that 75% of these obsolete computers are stored, and by 2007, these stored computers will amount to about 500 million computers that will need to be disposed of. As new technologies rapidly enter the market, e-waste is definitely a big concern for those interested in preserving our natural resources and our environment as a whole.

There are different options available for computers besides just throwing them away (or storing them). Alliance Web Site Solutions now accepts computers for recycling and reuse. Once refurbished or repaired they can be used by local students in need.

The other viable option we utilize is recycling. Computers are made with a variety of elements such as; plastics, glass, steel, gold, lead, mercury, cadmium and fire retardants that can be recaptured, sorted into recyclable categories and used again. If thrown away, these computers will release toxins into our environment,  polluting the groundwater we drink and the air that we breathe. Recycling the resources in computers also eliminates the need to obtain these elements from nature, decreasing their production impact on our environment.

YOU Can Make A Difference In Your Community! Do you know a student that could benefit from our project?

Contact us and we'll send you an application. Currently this project includes Waukesha and Milwaukee county only. We hope to add more counties soon!

We could use all the help we can get on this project, so if you want to donate time, funds, or experience please let us know!

TOGETHER... we CAN make a difference.

By eliminating e-waste, the environment is protected, resources are saved, local students in need benefit and you make a difference in your community. You can be a powerful force for good. Educating and enabling our community to take action to reduce e-waste is good for the environment. We make it easy for people with idle computers and electronics to put them to good use. Putting old products to new uses will extend the useful life of old computers and delay or even prevent their entry into our landfills, drinking water and air.

Alliance Web Site Solutions offers computer recycling and reuse solutions for old computers and components. Together we can recycle many hazardous and unwanted products.

Our goal is to provide computer recycling for the public and private sectors of our community. By implementing a recycling program for obsolete and used computer equipment we are doing our part to create a safer environment in our community.

Primary Functions:
